AGI reported that CGIL Secretary General Susanna Camusso in an interview on TgCom24 said that the decision by top management at the Ilva steel mill to close the plant down is wrong and the government should oblige it to change course" affirmed

She said "We all have the responsibility to quickly make the right decision for the Ilva Steel Mill."

According to the CGIL leader, the plant "must be kept operational" and be restructured.

She added "In order to rehabilitate a city or an urban district it is not necessary to turn off all the street lights but rather to perform reclaims, investments and changes. This is why a comprehensive solution for the future of this company entails a solution that coherently solves health and employment problems."
